To help you get a quick overview of how ADVAIR DISKUS 100/50 may help you to better manage your child's asthma, we've outlined key points you should know about this preventative* asthma product. You may want to print this page and refer to it in the future.

A convenient device with a built-in dose counter
ADVAIR DISKUS 100/50 has a built-in dose counter that helps you and your child keep track of doses. The dose counter begins at 60 and decreases by one number with each dose your child takes. The last five numbers on the dose counter are in red, to help remind you to refill your child's prescription soon.

Helps provide long-lasting control of your child's asthma symptoms
One dose of ADVAIR DISKUS 100/50 is effective for up to 12 hours.

Simple dosing
Your child should take one inhalation in the morning and one inhalation at night, approximately 12 hours apart, as prescribed by your child's doctor.

Breath-activated
ADVAIR DISKUS 100/50 is a breath-activated device, eliminating all of the squeezing and shaking of inhalers and the hassle of spacers.

Convenient asthma treatment
ADVAIR DISKUS 100/50 treats the two main components of asthma—airway constriction, the tightening of the muscles around the airways, and inflammation, the swelling and irritation of the airways. For children 4 to 11 years old, ADVAIR is for those who have symptoms on an inhaled corticosteroid.

Together, constriction and inflammation cause the airways to narrow and reduce airflow into the lungs, which may result in symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. ADVAIR 100/50 helps to reduce such symptoms. And it's clinically proven to improve lung function. Results may vary.

In a 12-week clinical study of people 12 years of age and older, these results were experienced by people taking ADVAIR 100/50, compared with people taking either fluticasone propionate 100 mcg or salmeterol 50 mcg (inhalation powders) alone. The use of ADVAIR 100/50 in children 4 to 11 years old is based in part on results of a study in people 12 years and older and safety data in children 4 to 11 years old.

Important Information about ADVAIR DISKUS
*Prescription ADVAIR won't replace fast-acting inhalers for sudden symptoms and should be taken twice daily.
ADVAIR should not be taken more than twice daily. ADVAIR is for people who still have symptoms on another asthma controller, or who need two controllers. ADVAIR contains salmeterol. In patients with asthma, medicines like salmeterol may increase the chance of asthma-related death. So ADVAIR is not for people whose asthma is well controlled on another controller medicine.

Talk to the doctor about the risks and benefits of treating asthma with ADVAIR. Do not use ADVAIR with long-acting beta2-agonists for any reason. If taking ADVAIR, see the doctor if asthma does not improve or gets worse. Tell the doctor about any heart condition or high blood pressure. Some people may experience increased blood pressure, heart rate, or changes in heart rhythm. Inhaled corticosteroids as well as poorly controlled asthma may cause a reduction in growth rate. The long-term effect on final adult height is unknown. ADVAIR is for patients 4 years and older. For patients 4 to 11 years old, ADVAIR 100/50 is for those who have asthma symptoms while on an inhaled corticosteroid.
