One thing you may experience while taking ADVAIR DISKUS 250/50 is the ability to breathe easier. Below you'll find some helpful information on what else you may experience while taking ADVAIR DISKUS 250/50.

When to expect improvement
You may experience an improvement in lung function as early as the first day of treatment. Maximum results may take several weeks. It's important to take your ADVAIR DISKUS 250/50 twice a day, every day, as directed by your doctor. Remember, ADVAIR DISKUS 250/50 does not replace fast-acting inhalers for acute symptoms. Your results may vary.

Missing a dose
If you miss a dose, just take your next scheduled dose when it is due. DO NOT DOUBLE the dose.

What else I need to know
Because many patients with COPD are former or current smokers, diseases associated with smoking (for example, heart disease and cancer) are common. If you still smoke, quitting and visiting your doctor regularly are the best ways to reduce your chances of suffering from these conditions.

COPD may also be associated with decreased bone strength. There are tests your doctor can perform in order to determine whether or not your bones are losing strength. You should ask your doctor about these tests at your next visit.

Additionally, because patients with COPD are generally older, they may experience common eye problems like cataracts and glaucoma.

Patients at risk for developing bone loss and some eye problems should be aware that use of inhaled corticosteroids, including ADVAIR DISKUS, may increase your risk. It is a good idea to get regular eye examinations — another topic you should ask your doctor about at your next visit.
